Julie Cridland is a PhD student in the lab working on using paired-end, whole-genome sequencing data to detect structural variation in population samples of Drosophila yakuba and Drosophila simulans.
Publications:
1. Cridland, J.M. and K.R Thornton (2010) Validation of rearrangement breakpoints identified by paired-end sequencing in natural populations of Drosophila melanogaster. Genome Biology and Evolution. 2010: 83-101
Ling Shao is the lab manager and senior research associate. Ling has been working on optimizing paired-send library preparation protocols for the Illumina platform, and is generating the libraries for the resequencing of Drosophila yakuba and Drosophila simulans.
